Bled Castle, Bled
The history of this castle is rooted in the 11th century, which is amazingly constructed at the top of a hill and facing the Lake Bled. There is also a Gothic chapel having Baroque style decorations.
This is a unique system of limestone caves, which is more than 200 m deep. There are waterfalls, flowing river through canyons and one of the largest known underground chambers, the Martel’s Chamber, which has a volume of 2.2 million m3.
Triglav National Park
This is the only national park in Slovenia with awe inspiring natural beauty. The highest mountain peak, Triglav of Julian Alps stands right in the middle of this park. There are valleys, forests and rivers, which are famous for various sports activities.
Wild Lake, Idrijski Log
This mysterious lake is a karst spring form which the underground water erupts and is a source of Jezernica River, the smallest river in Slovenia. Its surroundings are rich in unique flora and fauna.
Franciscan Church of the Annunciation, Ljubljana
This Baroque church was built in the 18th century. Its symbolic red colour represents the Franciscan monastic order. It has stone entrance staircase and decorated with frescoes and sculptures.
Pleterje Charterhouse, Drca Village
Founded in 1407 at the foot of Gorjanci hill, this Carthusian Monastery is still in operation. There is a wide cultivated land around the monastery where monks cultivate fruits from which they made pear brandy and mead.
There is almost 1.6 km gorge carved by the River Radovna when going from Bled to Podhom. There are natural galleries, bridges and paths in the rock while the mighty Radovna flows mystically over rapids and cascades, and makes pristine pools.
Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary, Bled
Located on an island in the center of Lake Bled, this church is also known as the Church of Mary the Queen or Our Lady of the Lake. Built in the 17th century, this church is decorated with mediaeval frescos and rich Baroque furnishings.
